This 1955 Cadillac Eldorado convertible is one of 3,950 produced for the model year and is finished in Cape Ivory with a white convertible top over a black and white leather interior. Power is from a 331ci V8 with dual-quad carburetion paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes power-assisted drum brakes, power steering, vertical front seat adjustment, power windows, 15″ chrome wire wheels, and a replacement AM/FM cassette stereo. This Eldorado convertible was purchased by the current owner in 2011 and is now offered on dealer consignment in Arizona with its factory radio, five spare 15″ chrome wire wheels with whitewall tires, a spare fuel pump, a spare set of cylinder heads.
Originally Alpine White (90), the car was refinished at some point under previous ownership in Cape Ivory and features front Dagmar bumper guards, gold emblems, a winged hood ornament, rear fins with chrome moldings, and dual exhaust tips exiting through the rear bumper extensions. A white power-operated convertible top is fitted in place of the factory black unit and is shown in both its raised and lowered positions in the gallery. The selling dealer notes that the power top operation is slow and sometimes requires manual assistance.
15″ wire wheels wear Cadillac crested center caps and 235/75 Coker Classic radial whitewall tires. Power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes and power steering were standard equipment. Five additional chrome 15″ wheels wrapped in 8.20-15″ Coker Classic bias-type whitewall tires are included.
The interior is trimmed in black and white leather (90) with matching door and rear side panels, black carpets, and a black dash. Amenities include power windows, vertical seat adjustment for the front bench, ashtrays for front and rear passengers, and a replacement AM/FM cassette stereo.
Factory instrumentation consists of a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. An analog clock is mounted in the passenger side of the dash, and the five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, approximately 1k of were been added by the current owner since 2011. True mileage is unknown.
