This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop was refurbished under prior ownership and spent time in Missouri and Washington before being purchased by the owner on BaT in May 2022. This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop was refurbished under prior ownership and spent time in Missouri and Washington before being purchased by the owner on BaT in May 2022. The car is finished in red over red and black upholstery, and power is provided by a 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Additional features include a continental kit, a center console with cupholders, a push-button AM/FM radio, 14″ steel wheels with whitewall tires, and power steering. Air conditioning components remain, though the system does not work. This Bel Air sedan is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a car cover, removable rear fender skirts.
The body was repainted in red under prior ownership and features chrome and stainless brightwork. Bel Air badges adorn the rear quarter panels, and additional equipment includes a continental spare tire, dual antennae, reverse lamps, and a dual exhaust system along with a fuel filler concealed above the left taillight. The seller notes paint bubbles and other blemishes on the hood.
The 14″ steel wheels wear faux knock-off covers and are mounted with 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by front and rear drums.
The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in red vinyl with black cloth and are complemented by matching door panels, black carpets, and a red dashboard. Features include vent windows, door-panel armrests, rubber floor mats, a center console with cupholders, and a Wonder Bar-style push-button AM/FM radio. The front speaker and air conditioning do not work.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a full horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows under 7k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added by the owner. Total mileage is unknown.
The 283ci V8 is topped with a Carter carburetor and an oil bath air cleaner. The seller notes an oil leak at the rear main seal.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
