This 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible is powered by a 389ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Safe-T-Track differential, and it was acquired by the seller in 2008. The exterior was repainted in red under prior ownership, and work in 2012 included replacing the windshield, convertible top motor, and wiring harness. Equipment includes a black soft top, power-assisted brakes, power steering, 14″ steel wheels, a Quick Fuel carburetor, a retro-look digital stereo, and air conditioning. Previously offered on BaT in October 2024, this GTO is now offered again at no reserve with PHS Automotive Services documents, service records.
The exterior was refinished in red under prior ownership, and the windshield and motor for the black soft top were replaced in 2012. Details include stacked headlights, a hood scoop, GTO badging, and chrome trim on the grille, bumpers, window surrounds, and rocker panels.
Slotted 14″ steel wheels are mounted with Grand Am Radial GT tires that were installed in 2012. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping is provided by power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes.
The front bucket seats and a rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl, and woodgrain trim accents the dashboard. Appointments include a full-length center console, a retro-look digital stereo, air conditioning, and a locking glovebox.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket cover and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 389ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt and is equipped with a Quick Fuel Technology carburetor and an MSD distributor and ignition wires. The wiring harness was replaced and the radiator was re-cored in 2012.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a Safe-T-Track differential.
